The Role
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant, equipment, and building services within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, varied position where you'll apply both your electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant and equipment
* Identify, manage, and mitigate risks across onsite equipment
* Perform fault finding on a wide range of machinery
* Maintain and improve preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
* Work with three-phase systems (up to 440V), motors, drives, and inverters
* Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
* Support health & safety compliance and contribute to best practice
* Write and review risk assessments, permits, and method statements
* Use CAFM systems and mobile devices to plan and complete tasks
* Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve maintenance issues
* Deputise for the Shift Leader as required
* Work flexibly, including overtime, nights, and weekends when needed
About You
We're looking for a proactive and skilled engineer with a strong background in manufacturing maintenance and a passion for problem-solving.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent)
* Strong experience in manufacturing/industrial maintenance
* Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, 17th Edition or equivalent)
* Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
* Experience working with:
* 3-phase systems, motors, drives, and inverters
* Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* PLC diagnostic and repair experience
* NVQ Level 2 (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent
* Ability to supervise contractors and manage permits
* Experience writing risk assessments and method statements
Desirable
* Working at Height certification
* IPAF licence
* Authorised Person (AP) qualifications
* Experience in heavy engineering environments
