Communications Lead - Defence

Job Description:

We are looking to appoint a Communication Lead to join our Defence team in Preston, supporting the delivery of a high profile and highly regulated Defence programme of national importance. This role requires highly trusted professionals who can operate with discretion, integrity and accountability within a secure environment. Due to commence in late autumn to early winter, the position sits within an Integrated Client Team and offers responsibility for the safe and controlled delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects within a long-term Defence programme.
This candidate should have eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance (SC).
You'll be responsible for:
* Developing and delivering communication and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned to programme objectives.
* Creating and implementing communication plans across multiple project and programme workstreams.
* Producing high-quality presentations, briefings, reports and communications materials for a variety of audiences.
* Supporting senior leaders with executive communications, key messaging and stakeholder engagement activities.
* Managing communications across complex stakeholder groups, ensuring consistent and timely information sharing.
* Planning and coordinating workshops, engagement events, leadership forums and programme communications activities.
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with client representatives, programme teams and senior stakeholders.
* Monitoring communication effectiveness and recommending improvements to enhance engagement and programme outcomes.
* Ensuring all communications comply with programme governance, security requirements and confidentiality standards.
* Promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Integrated Client Team.
You'll need to have:
* Experience developing and delivering communications strategies within complex programmes, major projects or consultancy environments.
* Experience creating and implementing communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
* Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across large and complex organisations.
* Strong planning, organisation and project coordination skills.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Teams.
* Current SC clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC).
