About the role
We are seeking a H&S Advisor to support the business through the engagement of employees and hands-on coaching, building trust and strong relationships across your business area.
The Health & Safety (H&S) team at Pernod Ricard are a team of 12 supporting our sites across the UK, including multiple distillation and maturation sites in Northern Scotland, our offices in London and Glasgow and our largest site in Dumbarton. The team focus on driving a culture of proactive health and safety, empowering our people and embedding continual improvement into daily operations.

What you will do
Business Support & Engagement:
* Support the effective management of contractors, helping site teams ensure safe planning, coordination, and control of work, and applying learnings from past experience.
* Support the development, testing, and ongoing improvement of emergency response plans to ensure teams are prepared to respond effectively to site-specific scenarios.
* Contribute to wider business safety improvement initiatives by supporting the implementation of company-wide projects, tools, and campaigns that enhance safety performance across all sit.
* Assist in the investigation of incidents, focusing on learning and root cause analysis to drive meaningful, preventative action.
Cultural Maturity:
* Build trust and influence behaviours by developing strong relationships with employees and line managers, helping to shape a positive safety culture.
* Provide operational teams with insight through the use of safety data and trends, enabling informed, risk-based decision-making.
* Promote a learning culture by sharing relevant lessons from across the wider business and encouraging the adoption of best practices.
* Champion a mindset that looks beyond compliance, supporting continuous improvement and striving for industry-leading safety standards.
Standards & Systems:
* Support with COMAH compliance.
* Apply health and safety policies, standards, and procedures in a way that aligns with the realities of distilling and bottling operations, ensuring they add value while maintaining compliance.
* Maintain appropriate relationships with external regulatory bodies, trade associations, emergency services, local authorities, contractors, professional bodies, employees' representatives, project managers, business unit managers and Pernod Ricard HQ.
Training & Development:
* Support frontline teams through visible, hands-on coaching to embed safe working practices and build confidence in managing day-to-day risks.
* Facilitate the engagement and empowerment of operational teams, encouraging ownership of safety and enabling locally driven improvements

Your skills and background
* Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent); additional qualifications or working towards further development are welcomed.
* Bring practical experience working in a health and safety role, ideally within a manufacturing, distilling, or bottling environment or highly transferrable skills and experience.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and an understanding of how to apply it in a fast-paced, operational setting.
* Confident in supporting the implementation of safety systems, policies, and procedures at a site or team level.
* Able to build positive relationships on the shop floor and support a culture of openness, learning, and continual improvement.
* Comfortable communicating with and coaching colleagues across different functions, using a calm, approachable style.
* Experience in assisting with incident investigations and risk assessments, with a focus on learning and practical improvement.
* Organised and able to manage routine responsibilities across multiple teams or work areas.
* An interest in learning about human factors and modern safety thinking, including Human and Organisational Performance (HOP), with a willingness to apply these in day-to-day work.
