With more than 140 sites across over 40 countries, the segment serves the food and beverage industry as well as pet food manufacturers and aquaculture markets.
The segment is divided into two divisions: Food & Beverage and Pet Food.
Symrise Food & Beverage is a Business Unit of the Symrise Group, dedicated to sourcing and transforming the finest raw materials into natural ingredients. The teams manage a remarkable diversity of more than 50 species of vegetables, fruits, and meat raw materials, adapted to a wide range of industrial applications, from soups to health nutrition products.
At the heart of its mission, Symrise Food & Beverage valorizes sorting by-products by transforming materials initially intended for the fresh market into edible products, thereby reducing food waste. This sustainable approach is fully aligned with Symrise's global strategy, built around four pillars: Footprint, Sourcing, Care, and Innovation.
Your role

Your main mission of this role is to drive innovation and strengthen our product leadership by transforming ideas into high-value solutions for our customers and markets. You will play a central role in shaping our future portfolio and ensuring that our technologies, processes, and expertise remain at the forefront of the industry.
To achieve this mission, you will:
* Lead product development - Drive the creation of new products and processes while continuously optimizing the existing portfolio to maximize performance and value.
* Build launch readiness - Prepare robust technical documentation to support successful product introductions.
* Monitor technology & markets - Conduct ongoing scanning of scientific, technological, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and risks.
* Strengthen technical expertise - Build and maintain deep knowledge in relevant domains to guide strategic decisions and innovation pathways.
* Develop external networks - Cultivate relationships with experts and partners in culinary, health, and nutrition fields to enrich our innovation pipeline.
* Manage projects & IP - Oversee project tracking, monitor intellectual property, and identify patentable innovations.
* Support commercial teams - Provide proactive technical support to sales and marketing teams, including customer visits and participation in trade shows.
* Shape product positioning - Contribute to defining value propositions, product features, and competitive differentiation.
* Collaborate cross-functionally - Work closely with Regulatory, Process Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and other teams to ensure alignment and execution.
* Lead and coordinate teams - Guide the R&D technician and coordinate cross-functional resources to deliver project objectives.
Your profile

You bring strong scientific and technical foundations, proven R&D experience, and the ability to turn customer needs into solutions within a fast-moving, cross-functional environment. Your ideal profile:

* Master's degree in Food Science, Process Engineering, or related field
* Significant food R&D experience, ideally in the meat sector
* Expertise in product & process development
* Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Ability to translate market briefs into technical solutions
* Knowledge of industrial processes, scale-up, and tech transfer
* Analytical rigor and scientific mindset
* IP and technology monitoring experience is a plus
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management
* Comfort in international environments
* Fluent English (written & spoken)
