Role Summary:
The Planning Optimization Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, refining, and optimizing production planning and materials management processes, bridging the gap between engineering, supply chain, and production teams. With a strong focus on system efficiency, data integrity, and process improvement, this role delivers actionable insights and sustainable solutions to streamline operations. The ideal candidate will be versed in MRP/MPS systems, Value Stream Mapping, and Change Management, with experience in the aviation or manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic & Root Cause Analysis:
* Conduct in-depth analysis of current planning and supply chain challenges to identify root causes and develop tailored solutions.
* Investigate pain points arising from process breaks between engineering, production, and supply chain functions.
BOM & Engineering Interface:
* Evaluate and enhance the "hand-over" process from Engineering to Production, ensuring better alignment and efficiency.
* Address gaps in Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and assess the impact of late-stage design changes on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
System Assessments & Audits:
* Audit current configuration settings in MRP/MPS systems, covering Planning Horizons, Order Policies, and Message Filters for optimization opportunities.
* Review end-to-end data flows to identify bottlenecks or inconsistent configurations.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
* Map value streams to pinpoint "data noise" and inefficiencies between client demand and supply chain execution.
* Lead the cleanup of master data, focusing on Lead Times, Safety Stocks, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), and Lot Sizing values.
* Stabilize production schedules by optimizing MPS to align with a firm/planned frozen window, reducing shop-floor disruptions.
Governance & Best Practices Implementation:
* Draft and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for planning and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
* Establish consistent "Planning vs. Actual" review sessions to track adherence to defined processes and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Knowledge Sharing & Training:
* Conduct bilingual (English & [Other language]) training sessions on interpreting MRP exception messages and managing system parameters.
* Provide ongoing coaching to junior team members to build robust planning capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Education:
* Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent professional training.
* Experience:
* Professional experience in the aviation or manufacturing sector, particularly in production planning, supply chain, or MRP/MPS systems.
* Demonstrated expertise in Value Stream Mapping, master data management, and process optimization.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency with MRP/MPS systems such as M3 (Infor), SAP, or Oracle.
* Strong understanding of Lean principles, Value Stream Mapping, and process improvement tools.
* Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools like Power BI or Data Studio.
* Soft Skills:
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
* Problem-solving mindset and ability to translate technical insights into actionable strategies.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of an additional language is advantageous.
Benefits:
* Meaningful Responsibility: Take ownership of high-impact projects from day one.
* Innovative Environment: Work on cutting-edge challenges with industry-leading clients, contributing to the future of production systems and digitalization.
* Career Opportunities: Access an extensive suite of development opportunities, including professional training, mentoring, and leadership pathways.
* Global Network: Be part of an expansive professional community with opportunities for international collaboration and exposure.
* Team Culture: Thrive in a supportive team that values innovation, diversity, and personal growth.
Additional Information:
* Location: On-site
* Work Environment: Dynamic production and planning environment with exposure to cutting-edge systems and tools.
