What you'll be doing:We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer with advanced expertise in Web Application Firewall (WAF), specifically with a focus on the Akamai platform. The chosen candidate will be tasked with devising and implementing security strategies to shield our web applications from threats, thereby ensuring the availability and integrity of online services.

Key responsibilities:
* WAF Implementation and Configuration: Deploy, configure, and manage Web Application Firewall solutions to protect web applications from cyber threats.
* Security Policy Development: Create and update security policies, using custom rules and actions to defend against vulnerabilities and threats.
* Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor WAF performance, using analytics to adjust settings for security and application performance balance.
* Liaison with Incident Response Team: Work with the Incident Response team to use insights from threats and attacks to improve WAF configurations.
* Threat Intelligence Application: Use current threat intelligence to anticipate and defend against cybersecurity threats.
* API Security Management: Implement measures to protect API endpoints against vulnerabilities and attacks.
* Custom Security Solutions Development: Develop custom security solutions to meet unique organizational security challenges.
* Regulatory Compliance and Support: Ensure web applications comply with industry regulations and standards, using WAF features to support compliance efforts.

Requirements:
* Experience in implementing Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and DDoS protection strategies.
* Experience in Network Security.
* Experience with Security Incident Response.
* A positive approach to influencing change with a focus on the business benefits
* Ability to take difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions whilst maintaining positive working relationships
* Ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders to ensure security is prioritized.
* Attention to detail and the ability to articulate complex data into a meaningful format, with clear action plans for any deficiencies
* Fluent in English
* Nice to Have:
-Network security credentials such as CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security.
-Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
