Our hotels bring people together. We're searching for a proactive Sales & Events Coordinator to join us on a Maternity Cover basis. This is a fast-paced role for someone capable of juggling high-volume bookings, maintaining established client relationships, and ensuring the seamless delivery of unforgettable events, meetings, and conferences.
As you step into this fixed-term position, you'll be the heartbeat of our events department, ensuring no detail is missed during this key period.
Every day is different at IHG, but you'll mostly be:
* Managing the Pipeline: Liaising with existing and new clients to build accurate event bookings and ensure a smooth transition of accounts.
* Service Excellence: Delivering exceptional service standards in-person, via email, or over the phone to maintain our reputation for excellence.
* Consultative Selling: Establishing client requirements to effectively facilitate their needs while proactively upselling to maximize sales, occupancy, and revenue.
* Operational Precision: Accurately logging all enquiries in the sales and catering system, compiling detailed function sheets, and providing regular reports to the Operations Team to ensure flawless execution.
What we need from you:
* Immediate Impact: Previous experience in hotel groups, meetings, and events or a similar sales role is essential so you can dive straight in.
* Client Continuity: A passion for providing excellent client engagement and the ability to build rapport quickly.
* Problem-Solving Pro: Confidence in proactively preventing issues and the professional tact to handle service recovery should any complaints arise.
* Fast-Paced Fluency: A love for working in a motivated team environment with the organizational skills to manage a busy desk from day one.
* Sharp Eyes: Excellent attention to detail and exceptional administrative skills.
* Team Spirit: A willingness to collaborate across departments and a flexible "can-do" attitude.
