We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people's lives.

To support our continued site expansion, we currently have an opportunity within the R&D team for a Scientist to join us. This team provide product R&D support for test method development activities through scientific experimentation including varied analytical chemistry techniques. This position is at the heart of the UK R&D team and your input and delivery of results will be instrumental in the achievement of developing suitable quantitative analytical techniques associated with sensor development projects. In this role you will be integral to the development of analytical test methods through characterisation studies, test method documentation preparation while also supporting equipment and test method validation activities.

The successful candidate will be motivated to develop their technical expertise, applying it to achieve project objectives, conduct and report experiments, analyse and interpret data, and draw scientifically sound conclusions and recommendations. You will also utilise your technical writing skills to prepare analytical test procedures, technical reports, and other supporting documentation.

Key responsibilities include:
* Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing (using e.g. HPLC, GC, and LC-MS techniques) to support method development and product characterisation.
* Ensure accurate sample preparation, instrument setup, calibration, and maintenance.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation issues.
* Apply scientific judgement to evaluate results and ensure data integrity.
* Maintain high-quality data generation in line with regulatory standards and following procedural requirements.
* Effectively perform a multitude of laboratory techniques in a fast-paced environment, with ability to adjust to technical challenges.
* Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the laboratory environment.

To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified in a scientific discipline and have additional experience with analytical chemistry techniques (e.g. HPLC, GC, LC-MS). Experience working in a regulated GLP environment is desirable.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team. You will need to have good communication, analytical and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. There will be regular opportunities to collaborate with Quality, Operations and Engineering functions.
