Mandatory - Internship in the Reliability Drive team from August 2024

The best or nothing! Reliability is crucial for the development of a new Mercedes-Benz model.
At the Untertürkheim plant, we develop & build what drives the cars forward: Electric drives, high-voltage batteries, engines & transmissions.
The reliability of new drive projects is analyzed as part of quality management. From the start of the project to the finished product and beyond, we ensure that the drives prove themselves to the customer.
Quality measures for products and processes are agreed at the start of development. We use statistical methods to calculate the assured reliability from the test data. Proof that the new drives are more reliable than their predecessors is required by the project management for quality approval. During customer deployment, the team monitors the reliability of components using statistical analyses based on data from customer vehicles and workshops. These analyses are required to prepare management decisions on service measures.
Close cooperation with those responsible for development, purchasing and service is the basis for our success.
We will introduce you to these tasks:
* Active participation in ensuring the reliability of electric & hybrid drives, as well as engines
* Evaluation of tests with regard to reliability
* Analyzing the probability of failure of components in customer hands
* Designing presentations for management decisions for committees
* Independent organization and moderation of coordination rounds
* Possibly programming smaller tools for data preparation (especially Excel, Python, etc.)

Qualifikationen

We are looking for these qualifications:
* Degree in engineering/economics or computer science/data science
* Sound knowledge of MS-Office, especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint
* Good written & spoken German & English skills
* Team player, appreciative & enthusiastic
* Self-motivation, initiative & communication skills
* Comprehension of technical contexts
* Structured & methodical way of working
* Interest in the product development of powertrain units & reliability technology
Please note that your internship at this location must include a prescribed mandatory component.
