The factory planning division of Mercedes-Benz AG is responsible for the worldwide development and the competent and economic realization of innovative, future-oriented and sustainable factory and site concepts.
As the local site team for the Powertrain plant in Untertürkheim, we are the first and central point of contact for all factory planning issues. We are responsible for the independent and holistic realization of all (construction) projects in the Untertürkheim, Mettingen, Hedelfingen and Brühl parts of the plant in cooperation with our partners.
In order to secure our projects, a closely coordinated and intensively interlinked cooperation with all project participants within the factory planning department, the external planning partners and the responsible authorities is required in order to coordinate, plan, tender, manage and accept all scopes of services after completion.
Together, we ensure that new product projects start on schedule and that optimizations and sustainability projects are implemented during ongoing operations. This involves planning and implementing future-oriented and energy-efficient concepts.
As an intern, you will gain an insight into the planning process and implementation process of factory planning from new buildings to conversions of administrative and production buildings, including planning technical building equipment. During the internship, you will learn first-hand how building conversions, modernizations and technical planning for building systems (ventilation technology, building automation, compressed air generation, energy and water supply) and fire protection technology are carried out.
You will face these challenges:
* Participation in team organization and project controlling
* Support in factory planning and planning of technical building facilities in the automotive industry of tomorrow
* Helping to design new processes
* Collaboration in team leadership for management tasks
* Implementing your own ideas in the areas of energy optimization and sustainability
* Coordination with internal interface partners and suppliers
* Deadline tracking in various projects at department level
* Preparation of committee and decision papers for management
* Coordination of overarching site issues (e.g. maintaining project and transfer lists)

Qualifikationen

* Degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, civil engineering or a comparable course of study
* Confident handling of MS Office
* Commitment and ability to work in a team
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
* Confident written and spoken German and English skills
Additional information:
The internship can be started flexibly in September or October and should ideally last between 5 and 6 months.
Please note that your internship at this location must include a mandatory component. A combined internship consisting of a compulsory and voluntary internship is possible.
