EHS Safety Intern

Position Summary
The primary purpose of the EHS Safety summer intern is to learn about key components of safety measures and occupational health requirements and engage in EHS-related projects.

Role and Responsibilities

*Work on safety and occupational health components within the Integrated Management System
*Assist with tasks during HQ EHS/Infrastructure and internal ISO audits
*Assist with regulatory evaluation and reporting requirements
*Monitor for EHS key performance indicators
*Assist with materials management for the Hazard Communication Program
*Assist with develop training materials and communication materials
Tentative Special Projects:
*Facilitate ergonomics assessments (recording)
*Conduct IP address mapping of all safety devices and interlocks (DX Meta Factory)
*Mapping fire system trouble alarms
*Conduct trending industrial hygiene data

Skills and Qualifications

* Education: Pursuing a four-year degree in either Environmental Science, Studies, Health, Engineering, or Sustainability, OR a related science degree (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Environmental Education).
* Experience: Prior work and/or internship experience in a science field is ideal, but not required
* Knowledge: Microsoft office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and Access); knowledge of coding and Canva is a plus
* Physical requirement: Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time (up to 1 hour), use standard office equipment, work outdoors, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (hard toe safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, and hearing protection)
* Physical requirement: All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
