Overview and purpose of the role:
We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic HR Intern to join our fast-paced and dynamic Human Resources department. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about people, eager to learn, and excited to gain hands-on experience in a generalist HR environment.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in developing their HR knowledge and contributing to the smooth and effective running of the department.
You will be based in our London Head Office working as part of the Northern Europe HR Team, and providing support to the wider EMEI HR team as required.
Key Tasks include:
* Work closely with the HR Team to ensure all administration tasks are completed effectively and in a timely manner for the full employee lifecycle.
* Maintain the filing system; making sure that all folders are kept concise and up to date and set up of new starter's folders.
* Data entry into our Database and relevant trackers (L&D, ER etc)
* Support with the onboarding of the new starters, including: drafting offer letters, employment contracts, probation pass letters etc.; making sure that the relevant paperwork is completed, returned and saved in the employees' personal folders; Leasing with IT on equipment and access as necessary.
* Complete reference checks.
* Manage monthly birthday and anniversary reminders, and ensure all key dates-such as fixed-term contract end dates and probation end dates-are added to the relevant managers' and HR team's Outlook calendars. Manage the distribution of anniversary cards and gifts.
* Support with the outboarding of the leavers, including drafting and sending Resignation Acceptance Letters, updating personal folders.
* Support the EMEI team with posting vacancies on LinkedIn and in ICims, screening talent and other related admin tasks.
* Maintain the EMEI and regional Northern Europe Organizational Charts.
* Provide assistance to the HR Director, EMEI with administration, diary management and travel booking.
* Provide lunch break/holiday cover on Reception as and when required.
* Support with event organisiation, supply orders and create the monthly departmental expense report.
* Support with ad hoc HR admin duties and with project work as required.
Skills and Requirements:
* A keen interest in Human Resources and the willingness to support a fast-paced department.
* Experience is not a must but would be very helpful to get the most out of this internship.
* A proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative in a busy, high-volume environment.
* Strong written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
* Demonstrating empathy, integrity, and strict respect for confidentiality.
