In order to provide high-fidelity training simulation, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Junior Business Process & AI Specialist (d/f/m)

You will join a team of experienced engineers and experts to jointly define, implement and integrate complex simulation sub-systems in the domain of sensors and weapons. Our engineers are closely collaborating with other departments and external suppliers in order to provide solutions for high-fidelity trainings systems, with current focus on the Eurofighter pilot training simulation system PSTS.
In this role, you play a pivotal part in bringing our business processes to the cutting edge of technology through the application of artificial intelligence. You possess at least a solid foundational knowledge of ML and AI, along with the interest and ability to independently delve deeper into specific sub-fields identified as relevant during your analyses. Instead of working on isolated models, you develop AI applications that are directly integrated into our operational processes, ranging from administration and project management to technical workflows such as requirements management and software development.
Primary goal is the development of reliable AI applications that significant increase the effectiveness and productivity within the team and the capabilities of our solutions. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the demands and constraints within a highly complex field of application, for which you will also periodically immerse yourself in the routine execution of these processes.
You will perform initial analyses, implement and extend prototypes, develop detailed proposals and roadmaps, and will contribute to their realization. Continuous improvements based on user feedback, is further key to enhance process efficiency, user experience, and, consequently, user acceptance.

Major Role & Responsibilities

* Iterative Development: Building upon existing prototypes, you consistently drive the further development of AI applications. To ensure maximum process relevance, you analyze the underlying business processes by actively executing them within the operational environment.
* Analysis & Conceptualization: You conduct in-depth process analyses, create experimental implementations, and formulate well-founded proposals as well as technical roadmaps. You play an active role in requirements definition, design, and implementation.
* Deployment & Scaling: You plan and oversee the deployment of applications within our expanding infrastructure. You ensure that solutions are deployed in a manner that is both technically stable and compliant with established processes.
* Optimization Loops: You directly feed insights gained from application usage and user interaction back into the technical development process. The objective is to continuously enhance process efficiency and system acceptance through technical excellence.

Specific & Technical Skills / Experience Required:

* Technical Foundation: You possess solid foundational knowledge in the fields of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ideally acquired through relevant academic studies or initial project experience).
* Analytical Depth: You possess both the ability and the drive to independently delve deeply into complex technical sub-domains.
* Implementation Focus: You are characterized by a structured approach to work and are committed to translating theoretical models into functional, scalable solutions.
* Systemic Understanding: You understand the interplay between technical implementation and organizational efficiency.

General Skills / Experience Required

* Educated to degree level in computer science or engineering
* Good language skills in English, both written and spoken
* Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining close, effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Capability to respond to changes in activities and priorities
* Good communication skills with an ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment
