Your role
As an entry-level role in our Shanghai team, you will:
* Develop quantitative models and analytics supporting the QIS business, with a focus on strategy design, pricing, risk analytics, and lifecycle support
* Contribute to the design and modelling of systematic QIS strategies, working closely with Trading, Structuring and senior Quants from research through to production
* Design and develop quantitative tools and applications to support QIS Trading in monitoring, managing, and hedging risk
* Contribute to quantitative applications and workflows within the strategic ACQA platform, in partnership with global Quant and IT teams
* Support internal and external stakeholders, including Trading, Sales, platform teams, clients, and third party calculation agents
* Engage and collaborate effectively with Trading, Quant, IT, and Risk Control partners in Shanghai and across regions

QIS Quants deliver best in class quantitative solutions for clients and trading functions of UBS' Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) business, part of Global Markets. As a member of our team, you will play an important role in the development and delivery of quantitative models, analytics, and tools that support systematic investment strategies across their full lifecycle.
You will develop solutions within UBS's proprietary cloud based quantitative analytics platform (ACQA) and collaborate closely with Trading, Structuring, Sales, Quant and IT teams globally. Your work will support QIS strategy research, productionization, and risk management, contributing directly to scalable and robust client outcomes.
Your expertise
Required
* Proficient in Python for developing quantitative analytics, models, and applications
* Proficiency in at least one of statistical modelling, optimisation, or AI/ML techniques, with a solid understanding of the underlying mathematical theory
* Experience working with large scale data analytics pipelines, with at least one of MS Azure Databricks, SQL, or KDB/Q
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a front office environment
* Academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM subject
Preferred
* Professional / internship experience in QIS, systematic trading, quantitative research, structuring, or front office quant roles within Global Markets
* Knowledge of time series data analysis and experience with KDB/Q
* Proficiency in additional programming languages such as C++ or Java; front end development experience (e.g. React/Enaml) is a plus
* Experience with cloud based workflows and components, including Azure; exposure to platform or calculation stack transformation initiatives is advantageous
* Strong knowledge of AI/ML techniques, with experience delivering such models into production environments a plus
* Post graduate academic studies in a quantitative STEM subject
