Introduction to Role

As a Payment Analyst in our External Expert Engagement Services (E3S) team, you'll ensure every payment to Healthcare Professionals and External Experts is processed accurately, compliantly, and on time - so scientific and medical teams can stay focused on patients. You'll join a forward-looking GBS community that's simplifying processes, leveraging data, and scaling smarter ways of working across the business.
Accountabilities
* Payment Execution & Timeliness: Process accurate, compliant payments to External Experts and patients on schedule, minimizing delays that impact scientific and medical engagements.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business owners and medical communications agencies to collect, validate and maintain all documentation and data needed to support each payment.
* Reimbursement Initiation: Initiate and track reimbursement for External Expert services aligned to contracted terms and fair-market-value controls.
* Finance Handover: Prepare complete, audit-ready payment requests for processing by Finance; investigate and resolve discrepancies prior to submission.
* Systems & Data Integrity: Maintain clean, consistent records across Salesforce, ePay and DocuSign; utilize and improve payment templates and tools to drive right-first-time outcomes.
* Compliance & Transparency: Adhere to SOPs, policies and relevant regulations; ensure data capture supports disclosure and transparency reporting requirements.
* Query Resolution: Manage and resolve ad hoc queries from External Experts, customers and internal stakeholders with a proactive, consultative approach that builds trust.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify root causes behind recurring issues; recommend simplification, automation and training to improve cycle time, quality and compliance over time.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* First experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
* Proven customer service experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management
* Working knowledge of SAP
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High ethical standards; trustworthy; operates with absolute discretion
* Proactive and consultative customer service orientation
* Ability to work across cultures and geographical boundaries
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience supporting HCP/HCO or External Expert payments in a highly regulated environment, including familiarity with disclosure and transparency reporting
* Advanced proficiency in SAP, Salesforce, DocuSign, and ePay, with the ability to troubleshoot and improve process flows
* Knowledge of relevant compliance frameworks and fair-market-value principles
* Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and KPI tracking
* Ability to analyze payment data to identify trends and recommend control or efficiency enhancements
* Multilingual communication skills to support stakeholders across regions
* Experience working with agencies and cross-functional medical or commercial teams
