Job Description
Job Title: Associate - North America Banks, CIB Coverage
Location: London
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.
What you'll be doing:
We're looking for an Associate to join our North American Banks coverage team within Institutional Coverage to work with some of the world's largest Tier 1 Banks. In this hands-on role, you'll support senior coverage leads while also being encouraged to take real ownership and make a visible impact.
You'll help lead and grow a global client portfolio, coordinate broader business development initiatives and actively participate in pitches for new business. We genuinely give our Associates space to recommend ideas, develop solutions and see them through, with responsibility for client relationships growing over time. You'll work closely with product partners and Client Services to respond quickly to client needs in a fast-paced environment, always keeping the client experience front of mind.
Alongside this, you'll play a key role in portfolio governance with supporting the annual renewal process, working with Credit Risk and business partners, and ensuring documentation aligns with credit sanction, bank policy and regulatory requirements. We're also keen for you to challenge how things are done, helping us improve processes and build a more efficient, client-focused team as we continue to grow revenues and deepen relationships across the region.
Why join us?
We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone, make change happen and challenge the status quo. Sound like you?
What we're looking for:
* Currently operating at Associate level, with a minimum of 12 months' experience in an Associate role within Corporate & Institutional Banking
* Commercially savvy, with a broad understanding of CIB and Group products, awareness of the wider market and business context, and the ability to analyse performance and financial information
* Commercial and risk-aware, with curiosity around risk management and control in a complex global and geopolitical environment
* Conscientious and organised, with a focused approach to work and confidence running multiple, contending priorities
* Leadership perspective, comfortable taking ownership of client relationships and leading or supervising team initiatives
* Strong collaborator, able to work inclusively, take a broader perspective and contribute to team success
* Clear and effective communicator, able to engage confidently with diverse audiences, senior stakeholders and international counterparts
And any experience of these would be great:
* Regulatory awareness - some understanding of the regulatory framework the business operates within
* Languages -any additional language capability or experience is a plus
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
This is a place for you:
Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we're committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.
We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative.
We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.
We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
* A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
* An annual performance-related bonus
* Share schemes including free shares
* Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
* 28 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
* A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
