Health & Safety Officer - Care Services
Salary: £38,400 - £42,000
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Staines. Hybrid role with a focus on multisite visits, with responsibility for managing your own diary and travel. Role specific car will be included in the benefits package
About this role
This role plays a key part in keeping people safe across our UK Care Services. As a Health & Safety Officer, you'll support multiple locations, helping managers meet their legal responsibilities and embed a strong, practical safety culture. It's a varied, hands-on role with plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact.
The role requires regular travel across our network of Care Homes and Retirement Villages, with a strong concentration of sites from the Midlands through to the South of England.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting Care Home and Richmond Village Managers with day-to-day health & safety advice
* Carrying out audits and monitoring compliance with internal policies and legislation
* Investigating incidents and completing reportable injury investigations within agreed timescales
* Supporting the implementation of effective control measures following risk assessments
* Producing clear, factual written reports and escalating risks where appropriate
* Contributing to H&S campaigns, policy reviews, and continuous improvement activity
* Working closely with Learning & Development and the wider People team
What We're Looking For
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) with experience in a practical health & safety role
* Confidence working independently across multiple sites and competing priorities
* Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and best practice
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to influence, advise, and challenge constructively without direct authority
* A practical, organised, and professional approach to health & safety
