Your Role And Responsibilities

As an IBM Consulting intern, you will work with the latest technologies and collaborate with team members to create real impact for our clients and the greater world. You will have the opportunity to bring innovative ideas forward, put your transferable skills to work, and develop and learn new skills that will support your career growth. During your internship experience, you will have the opportunity to:

* Work alongside a global community of 6000+ interns and meet other IBMers during networking events, special team events and career development activities
* Grow your skills through a combination of education platforms, and receive career guidance from your manager, coach, and mentor to get everything you need to shape the start of your career
* Learn about a client's industry, tackle new challenges, and learn about how their business and technology intersect

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

* Have at least 6 months remaining before finishing the degree and remain active during the internship period
* Advanced English
* Availability to do internships of 35 hours per week (part-time) or full-time
* Students in the final semesters of Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (with finance concentration) or Data Analytics / Data Science (if role has stronger analytics emphasis)

Financial & Business Skills

* Strong foundation in financial statements, accounting basics, P\&L, cash flow, and balance sheet concepts.
* Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis.
* Comfortable working with large datasets to support monthly/quarterly close activities.
* Interest in financial modeling (no mastery required-just aptitude and willingness).

Technical Skills

* Excel (intermediate-advanced): pivot tables, lookups, basic financial formulas.
* Power BI or Tableau: ability to create dashboards or analyze data (nice-to-have).
* PowerPoint: for building executive-ready presentations.
* Experience with SQL, Python, or Power Query is a bonus-especially for roles that support automation or reporting transformation.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
* Detail-oriented with curiosity to question data and processes.
* Ability to explain numbers clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* Collaboration skills: comfortable working in a multicultural environment (U.S.-Mexico).
* High sense of ownership and willingness to learn quickly
