This Position reports to:Senior R&D Engineer
At Corporate Technology Center in Kraków, we create innovative solutions that are implemented in ABB products and systems. This is a unique opportunity to join interdisciplinary scientific teams and international projects where expertise, curiosity, and innovation are highly valued.
About the Internship:
* Start date: as soon as possible (preferably August 1, 2026)
* On-site work model
* Availability of 20-25 hours per week
Your Responsibilities:
* Support hardware development of energy monitoring devices and accessories
* Assembly, commissioning, and testing of prototypes using laboratory infrastructure and equipment
* Electronics schematic preparation and simulation
* Design of multilayer printed circuit boards (PCB)
* Occasionally enclosures and test fixtures prototyping using 3D printing technology
Requirements:
* 2nd or 3rd year student in Electronics, Telecommunications, Microelectronics, Automation & Robotics, or a related field
* Soldering skills - (SMD components assembly as additional asset)
* Understanding of the principles of operation of basic electronic circuits based on transistors and operational amplifiers
* Basic experience in schematic and multilayer PCB design
* Basic knowledge of PCB design and electronics simulation tools (Altium Designer as additional asset)
* Basic measurement skills using laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies etc.
* Basic knowledge of 3D design tools is considered an advantage (SolidWorks or similar)
* Basic programming skills in Python and C/C++ are welcome
