About the role:

Join Origin's Integrated Gas team as an early-career Economist and take your first step into real-world energy decision making. This role offers hands-on exposure to how economic analysis and modelling are used to support strategy, investment and long-term planning across a large and complex gas portfolio.

Working closely with experienced economists, analysts and leaders across the Energy business, you'll help turn data into clear insights that influence important commercial and strategic outcomes. You'll be supported with mentoring and on-the-job learning, making this an ideal opportunity to grow your technical skills and commercial understanding early in your career.

* Contribute to economic and financial modelling that supports strategy, planning and investment decisions

* Support the evaluation and optimisation of gas development opportunities and new ventures

* Help develop clear insights on value drivers, risks and trade-offs for senior leaders

* Collaborate with teams across the business to improve economic tools, models and processes

* Assist with investment cases, impairment testing and long-term supply and development planning

You'll work on meaningful analysis from day one, while building skills that are highly transferable across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

What will you bring?

* A tertiary qualification in economics, finance, engineering or a related discipline

* Strong analytical skills and an interest in applying economics in a commercial environment

* Exposure to economic or financial modelling through study, internships or early career roles

* An interest in energy markets, infrastructure or long-term investment decisions

* The ability to communicate analysis clearly and ask questions when learning something new

* A collaborative, curious mindset with strong problem-solving skills

Previous experience in oil, gas or energy is beneficial but not required - we're looking for strong foundations, curiosity and the motivation to learn.
