Are you ready for your next challenge - to shape and elevate health and safety across Europe in a newly created Health & Safety Advisor role that delivers real impact both locally and globally?
Hybrid role. Based in Belgium.

What you can expect :

As Health & Safety Advisor you will operate as an integrated member of the Global H&S team, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager
(UK & Europe), to assist the company to promote a positive safety culture towards Health and Safety protection; meet legislative compliance across European countries, aspire toward best practice, and achieve strategic objectives throughout its operations within the countries for which you are responsible. Works independently with minimal supervision on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. Sets objectives for own job area to meet the goals of projects and assignments.

We will count on you to :

* Support departmental targets, objectives and projects as defined and agreed with management, ensuring adequate, accurate and timely appraisal of relevant and confidential information.

* Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective risk strategies and health and safety management systems across multiple European countries, ensuring compliance with diverse national regulations and EU directives. Utilize comprehensive information including corporate policies, local guidance notes, and standardized proformas to identify and document hazards. Conduct thorough risk assessments and recommend suitable control measures to establish safe systems of work tailored to each country's legislative requirements. Lead accident investigation and reporting processes, ensuring timely communication and corrective actions in line with both local laws and overarching European health and safety standards.

* Utilize proprietary software to conduct audits in line with the schedule established by the UK & Europe Health & Safety Manager. Assess risk exposure and identify necessary improvements, providing detailed statistics and comprehensive reports on findings. Ensure timely resolution of issues and conduct follow-up reviews as required.

* Represent the department and company as required and directed across various meetings, committees, working groups, project teams and other forums both internally and externally.

The role involves implementing significant adjustments and recommending enhancements to systems. Challenges encountered are complex and often require a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of interconnected issues. Problem-solving typically demands consideration of multiple factors, departments, or specialities, as well as processes, to effectively address issues and improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the work area.

What you need to have :

* Experience providing Health and Safety advice and guidance to colleagues at all levels. Contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective risk strategies and health and safety management systems across multiple European countries, in a multi-site organization.
* Fluency in French, Dutch and English
* Able to analyze complex problems and apply structured, logical planning to deliver practical solutions.
* Demonstrates strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills necessary to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
* Self-motivated and organized team player, capable of managing multiple priorities within defined timeframes.
* Possesses competent knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and EU directives, procedures, and techniques to a recognised academic level.
* The post holder has a solid understanding of, and practical experience with, the application of structured Health and Safety management systems, is IT literate and proficient in current standard Microsoft desktop applications.
