Title and Summary
Manager, Sponsorships
The Manager, Sponsorships is responsible for supporting the development, commercialization, and execution of regional sponsorship platforms that drive brand relevance, consumer engagement, issuer value, and business growth. The role manages day-to-day sponsorship initiatives across sports, entertainment, and cultural properties, ensuring assets are strategically packaged, properly governed, and activated in alignment with regional and global marketing objectives.
This position plays a key role in translating sponsorship rights into market-ready opportunities for internal stakeholders, issuers, merchants, and partners. Responsibilities include:
Supporting sponsorship strategy, property management, asset planning, issuer/market engagement, monetization workstreams, Marketing Services integration, and execution oversight.
Internal materials describe sponsorship responsibilities as including opportunity identification, proposal building, issuer/merchant engagement, feasibility checks, rights and timing guidance, property coordination, execution oversight, and governance through asset request processes.
The Manager also helps coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Marketing & Communications, Marketing Services, Product, Legal, Finance, Sourcing, agencies, rights holders, and local market teams to ensure sponsorship programs are delivered effectively and compliantly.
This includes supporting business rationale development, activation planning, asset approvals, post-event reporting, and performance tracking.
Internal role materials also reference responsibilities across sponsorship strategy, property management, new sponsorships, Services integration, asset request tools, monetization projections, Priceless Experiences, and executive-ready deliverables.
In addition, the role contributes to the governance and operational discipline of Mastercard's sponsorship portfolio, helping ensure that sponsorship assets are used to maximize business impact, client value, and return on investment. Global sponsorship training materials define sponsorships as partnerships that provide access to commercial potential, including intellectual property, branding and media, exclusive rights, tickets, and experiences, all of which must be managed through structured processes and approval systems.
Key Responsibilities
Support regional sponsorship strategy and execution across sports, music, entertainment, gastronomy, and cultural properties.
Package sponsorship assets into market-ready propositions for issuers, merchants, and internal business teams.
Coordinate with Marketing Services to identify monetization opportunities and build issuer-facing commercial models.
Manage sponsorship asset planning, approvals, governance, and usage through internal request and tracking processes.
Support cross-functional alignment with Legal, Finance, Sourcing, Product, Communications, agencies, and rights holders.
Develop business cases, presentations, executive summaries, and post-activation reports.
Track sponsorship performance, monetization projections, asset utilization, and market execution.
Ensure sponsorship activations comply with internal policies, timelines, approval processes, and partner rights.
