ABOUT PORTO & POSITION:
To support our European intensive growth, the Group has decided to build a Center based in Porto with the aim to provide administrative and financial support to the European subsidiaries. In this context, we are looking for a Credit controller english speaker. The Credit Controller is responsible for supporting the Group Credit Control Manager in managing and overseeing the company's receivables and collections process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts,
* Follow up with customers to ensure payments are received on time and escalate issues where necessary,
* Maintain accurate records of communication with customers regarding overdue payments,
Regularly report on your accounts to the UK Group Credit Control Manager, including updates on outstanding debt, payment arrangements, and customer disputes,
* Work closely with other teams (sales, administration, finance) to ensure alignment in credit management processes,
* Assist in resolving customer disputes or payment issues promptly and professionally,
* Work with internal teams and escalate to the Group Credit Manager as needed for complex cases,
* Follow the company's credit control policies and ensure best practices are adhered to in your day-to-day activities,
* Identify and suggest improvements to streamline processes or address challenges in collections.

Minimum/Essential Skills/Qualifications

PROFILE:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred),
* Previous experience in credit control or collections role is a plus (at least 1-2 years of experience),
* Strong attention to detail,
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders,
* Customer-focused approach, able to maintain professional relationships while pursuing collections,
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
