AFC Technology (AFC Tech)

AFC Technology (AFC Tech) is responsible for designing, building, and operating the technology platforms that enable Deutsche Bank's Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) function. This includes delivering secure, resilient, and compliant solutions for transaction monitoring, case management, alerting, and data, while meeting regulatory expectations. AFC Tech partners closely with business, risk, and operations teams to reduce financial crime risk through scalable platforms, strong engineering standards, and continuous modernization.

As a Service Reliability Engineer (f/m/x), you will be responsible for the implementation of SRE best practices and delivery of key monitoring and metrics aspects for achieving a state of the art SRE landscape to support Deutsche Bank's future state Anti Financial Crime capabilities.

Your key responsibilities
* Build software for IT operations for example Automation of health checks, functional and non-functional monitoring and alerting, automatic recovery from failures
* Promote SRE culture by example and collaborate with application developers to build elegant handling of negative/fault scenarios upfront
* Craft high quality software with working functional and non-functional tests
* Support traditional IT operations teams as required for troubleshoot critical production issues and then create/own backlog items to prevent/recover from similar faults.
* Peer review code written by other colleagues and provide constructive feedback to help drive overall code quality.

Your skills and experiences
* Passion for SRE practices and exhibits them in ways of working.
* Prior hands-on development and support experience in predominantly Java/Kubernetes/Messaging ecosystem with heavy focus on non functional requirements like resilience, scalability and performance and incident response
* Passion for automation and experience in formal/informal automation of manual IT operations tasks
* Extensive experience in CI/CD pipelines, E2E automation testing, Chaos testing in active-active topologies
* Strong linux scripting and SQL knowledge with an extensive experience in troubleshooting and preventing database and application-level performance issues
* Experience with working with a major cloud provider (preferably Google Cloud)
