Role Summary
We are seeking a Backbone OEM Project Manager to provide commodity and NPI readiness support for Backbone hardware programs. Backbone "NPIs" often operate outside the standard DA/xVT framework and require flexible, responsive project management to ensure readiness for manufacturing and qualification. This role will partner closely with Network Engineering (NetEng), Sourcing, and Manufacturing Program (MP) teams to drive OEM engagement, qualification planning, and execution alignment for Backbone commodities.
The PM will act as the central coordinator ensuring that all stakeholders-from suppliers to internal hardware and manufacturing teams-are aligned and prepared to support fast-paced Backbone NPI programs with minimal runway.

Key Responsibilities
Provide program management and sourcing support for Backbone OEM commodities through the full qualification and readiness lifecycle.
Partner with NetEng teams to understand technical requirements and timelines for Backbone NPIs.
Drive alignment with MP teams to ensure OEM readiness for manufacturing builds and production ramp.
Coordinate schedules, dependencies, and readiness checkpoints across sourcing, engineering, and supply chain teams.
Manage supplier communication, documentation, and deliverables to ensure timely execution despite non-standard NPI frameworks.
Identify and mitigate risks related to OEM qualification, supply readiness, or manufacturing dependencies.
Establish visibility and governance for Backbone NPI progress through dashboards, trackers, and readiness reviews.

Required Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience in hardware, sourcing, or manufacturing environments.
Strong understanding of NPI and supplier qualification processes-particularly in OEM or commodity management contexts.
Proven ability to manage projects with minimal runway and high ambiguity, balancing speed and execution quality.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing stakeholders.
Strong communication and organizational skills with experience driving alignment across multiple time zones and partners.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Backbone, Network Infrastructure, or Data Center hardware programs.
Familiarity with high tech companies' hardware processes or equivalent environments (e.g., Meta, Google, Apple, Amazon).
Experience in supplier management, sourcing operations, or commodity project management.
PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Technical background in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering a plus.
