Title and Summary

Principal, Technical Program Management

Overview:
Mastercard's Global Open Banking PMO is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery of transformative initiatives that shape the future of open banking. In this role, you will drive the end-to-end execution of strategic business programs and global product solutions, from ideation and planning through launch and adoption, for some of Mastercard's most important customers and partners.
You will collaborate across Product, Engineering, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Customer Delivery teams to build comprehensive and achievable project plans highlighting key milestones and dependencies. You'll manage the execution and delivery of all tasks required to achieve project success, identifying and mitigating risks and providing meaningful status reporting to internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Join the team that is leading the charge to bring creative solutions in open banking to market with quality, efficiency, collaborative energy and an eye on the future of our industry.
This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, technical depth, operational excellence, and executive presence to deliver innovative solutions that create value for customers, consumers, and the broader financial ecosystem.

Role:
* Independently lead large-scale initiatives and mid-sized portfolios, bringing clarity to ambiguous requirements and defining key deliverables and success criteria.
* Break down complex problems into actionable, value-driven solutions by balancing business objectives with technical considerations.
* Facilitate focused, outcome-oriented discussions with internal and external stakeholders, driving timely decisions and removing obstacles to execution.
* Bridge regional and cross-functional teams to align architectures, strategies, priorities, and delivery plans with urgency and accountability.
* Champion program management best practices across PMO, Product, and Engineering, mentoring peers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships across Program Management, Product, Engineering, Legal, Delivery, and Executive Leadership teams.
* Serve as a trusted partner to strategic clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders while consistently demonstrating Mastercard Way values.
* Oversee all phases of the product and software development lifecycle for strategic client-facing and internal initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, business alignment, and effective management of risks and dependencies.
* Provide clear, concise, and proactive communication of progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout delivery.

All About You:
* Proven ability to independently lead complex, high-impact initiatives, bringing structure to ambiguity and driving successful outcomes.
* Deep expertise delivering end-to-end product and technology solutions, with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively mitigate risks.
* Skilled at applying Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery methodologies to support diverse teams and business environments.
* Strong analytical, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex challenges.
* Adept at bridging business and technical perspectives, building alignment and driving execution across cross-functional teams.
* Technically fluent, capable of partnering effectively with engineering teams and understanding technical risks, dependencies, and constraints.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence audiences ranging from technical teams to executive leadership.
* Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality, accountability, and delivery.
* Passionate about data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, leveraging metrics and feedback to improve outcomes.
* Experience working with enterprise clients in technology, financial services, fintech, or related industries is preferred.
* Resilient and adaptable, with a demonstrated ability to navigate organizational complexity and drive results in fast-paced environments.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent practical experience.
