Overview

In the Positive Value Chain pillar our goal is to make products in a way that builds a circular, inclusive economy. Sustainable Beverage Packaging is a key part of this agenda and has a goal to cut virgin plastic from non-renewable sources by 2%, through scaling new business models that avoid or minimize single-use packaging and replace our absolute tonnage of virgin plastic derived from non-renewable sources. Additionally, EU legislation changes / restrictions announced and in process will drive the need to continuously adopt PepsiCo strategy to ensure internal and external targets compatibility.

This role will be responsible for :

The Sustainability Manager - Beverage Packaging EMEA Region is a strategic role within EMEA Sustainability Team and thought partner to EMEA OUs (Operating Units) in driving sustainability progress across our Beverage Packaging and its key pillars: REDUCE, REUSE, REINVENT.

This role is accountable for shaping and executing long-term packaging strategy that drives virgin plastic reduction and circularity improvement across EMEA Region. Primary job scope includes Pepsico managed bottling operations in EU as well as Turkey and Egypt. This role also serves as the CoE (Centre of excellence) for external bottlers of Pepsico within EMEA - primarily UK and Nordics.
Responsibilities

* Partner with EMEA Sustainable Packaging Director in shaping & evolving long-term strategy for Beverage packaging, including the Reuse models.

* Partner with Corporate Affairs in determining impact of EU and non-EU regulations on Pepsico packaging portfolio and planning relevant changes if required.

* Set-up and lead x-functional teams to develop new or remodel existing packaging solutions.

* Participate in external / industry wide coalitions in developing breakthrough models such as Reusable packaging in Retail.

* Program manage overall change agenda for packaging sustainability in EMEA - partnering with OUs in landing their customized solutions on shelves.
Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Strategy, Business Management, Sustainability / Circularity or related field preferred

* 8+ years of progressive strategy or sustainability experience, ideally within a multinational, matrixed environment or consulting

* Demonstrated expertise in designing long-term strategies, program management and change leadership at large scale

* Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability and ability to influence at senior levels

* Proven experience partnering with senior leaders across all key business functions, going from Commercial / Mktg through Supply Chain, Procurement up to R&D

* Excellent stakeholder management skills (incl. external stakeholders) and ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, complex environment

* Excellent communication skills, enabling fast & fact based decision making

* Basic technical expertise in F& B packaging, circular systems, end of life infrastructure would be an additional asset.
