Shorcan is a leading Canadian Inter-Dealer Brokerage firm that specializes in Canadian Fixed Income products. We have been an integral part of the Canadian Fixed Income market since our founding in 1977. Shorcan provides bank-to-bank brokerage services in Canada, Provincial and Corporate bonds, CMB's, Repo's and Swaps. This role reports to: COO, Vice President, Business Development

This role is hybrid (3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities:
* Learning our back office systems, and assisting in the monitoring and clearing of bond and Repo trades
* Assisting our developers on the ongoing development of our Proprietary Bond Trading Platform, Shorcan HTX
* Analyzing test data with our QA team to improve product performance and quality
* Working with our Brokers to learn the core business, bond trading and brokering
* Analyzing and characterizing Market Data
* Improving the quality and robustness of our products

Must have(s):
* Progressing towards a post secondary school diploma/degree with focus on finance, accounting, commerce, marketing, technology, risk, or equivalent training
* Experience in financial services/accounting or related business fields
* Strong proficiency with Google Suites application and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, MS Word)
* Strong attention to detail
* Data analysis, innovative thinking, and technological skills
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

Nice to have(s):
* A self-starter who is proactive and eager to learn
* Prior experience or coursework related to the Canadian Fixed Income market
* Experience working in fast-paced environments

Note:
* 4 month Co-op / Internship: May 4, 2026 - August 28, 2026
* In order to be considered for the position, you are required to submit your Knockri Assessment

​Salary Range: 20/hour-25/hour CAD
