We are now looking for a Summer Trainee, Technical Writer

Technical communication (technical writing) as business is rapidly evolving towards digital, smart content delivery. With new technologies, such as dynamic content delivery and artificial intelligence (AI), the business requires both traditional technical communication competence and understanding the modern digital world we live and work in.

We are looking for a language or communications student at the final phases of studies or a postgraduate looking for first job opportunities. You can work between May - September 2026, based on availability and preference.
As a Trainee Technical Writer, you will participate in creating and developing technical content (technical documentation) for elevators. The content is targeted to different audiences like sales, installation, maintenance. You will also assist in development tasks related to digital content delivery.
In your work, you collaborate with R&D subject matter experts, our information designers, technical writers and illustrators locally and globally.
You will be part of the Information, Shared R&D Services, unit in Hyvinkää, Finland. We expect you to work in the Hyvinkää office for 3 days a week. In the beginning we expect you to be there 5 days a week.

Responsibilities
· Collaborate with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and documentation professionals to create technical documents.
· Contribute to digital content development.
· Work closely with SMEs to gain the information required for the project being completed.
· Organize and develop documentation according to set standards, guidelines and needs.
· Collaborate across teams with the ability to prioritize, schedule and meet deadlines.
· Follow-up and ensure the quality of our outcome.
· Contribute to terminology development.
· Help in all and any items inside the team.

Requirements
· Studies in a relevant field, suitable for technical documentation
· Excellent English language skills
· Any experience in technical communication is an asset
· Any experience in digital information creation, web or application content creation is an asset
· Ability to work with several ongoing tasks effectively
· Experience with structured documentation and authoring tools is a plus
· Ability to learn technical issues quickly, knowledge on electrical or mechanical design is an asset
· Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, giving high attention to detail. Ability to take in technical information and write clear, concise, step-by-step instructions.
· Microsoft tools competence
· Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with all stakeholders, in a global setup
· Logical, analytical thought process; any experience in project management is a plus
· Ability to work in a team environment
