About you and this role

PU Foam recycling is becoming more and more impactful for achieving circular economy of polymers.

End Of Life foams can be recycled via numerous routes, one of many is via depolymerization. The intern will support the research for chemically recycling PU foams, her/he will conduct PU foam recycling and support the implementation of analytical technics to support the development.

We are looking for you, an ambitious master student, to support our R&D/TS&D Polyurethane team by with doing an internship project in End of Life polyurethanes: composition analysis and recycling

Primary Responsibilities: 

R&D thesis internship

Responsibilities

* Preparation of polyols by foam chemical recycling

* Analysis of key polyol characteristics

* Set up standard testing for volatiles

* PU foaming

* Investigation of lab scale process blends production

* Documentation of the obtained results

 

Qualifications

* You are currently studying for a master's degree or equivalent in chemistry, industrial chemistry, physics, material science or similar.

* You have a good knowledge of English.

* Basic Knowledge of organic chemistry and polymer science.

* You have previously work in a chemistry laboratory.

* You can work in team, you have curiosity and initiative.

Your Skills

* Fluent English

* Chemical background

* Good learning skills

* Basic Experience in wet lab operations

* Focus on chemical and process safety
