About the Team The team is missioned to build infrastructures, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross-functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. The hiring team is responsible for offensive security, threat emulation, penetration testing, and defensive strategy development. You will work closely with senior security engineers and cross-functional teams to assess and improve the security posture of ByteDance products and systems. You will also have chance to work on AI-driven attack and defense research, security assessments of AI systems, and applying AI techniques to enhance security operations. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Responsibilities - Plan and execute penetration tests, red team operations, and security assessments against internal systems, applications, and infrastructure. - Identify, analyze, and document vulnerabilities and potential risks in staging and production environments. - Conduct technical security reviews for new services, features, or platform changes. - Collaborate with product and engineering teams to suggest effective defense-in-depth controls and mitigation strategies. - Research and evaluate AI-specific threats, such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model inversion, model extraction, and jailbreak attacks

Requisiti del candidato:

Minimum Qualifications - Undergraduate, or Postgraduate who is currently pursuing a degree/master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other STEM disciplines. - Strong interest in cybersecurity, particularly offensive security, penetration testing, or red team activities. - Familiarity with common security concepts, vulnerabilities, and exploitation techniques. - Experience with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, C/C++). - Problem-solving mindset, self-driven attitude, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications - Participation in CTF competitions, bug bounty programs, or similar hands-on security challenges. - Published vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs) or contributions to security research/tools. - Familiarity with cloud and container security, network security, or mobile application security.
