This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
The Position
Roche is deeply committed to discovering new therapies to help people suffering with dry eye disease. We want to become the world leader in developing medicines that don't just treat the ocular surface, but actually cure these diseases and dramatically improve patients' quality of life.
The Opportunity

As a temporary team member, you will work in an interdisciplinary team of corneal specialists, clinical scientists and imaging experts to ensure high-quality imaging data is captured and properly stored and analysed. You will also work with data scientists to utilise modern AI tools to improve and automate the imaging ingestion and quality control processes, as well as support AI-based analysis of the data. Furthermore:
* You will be hands-on ensuring a smooth image ingestion process and quality image capture from the clinical study sites
* You will handle any image quality issues or incorrect image data handling and work with the clinical sites to correct any issues
* You will be part of the clinical team to develop and validate deep learning-based image algorithms for data quality and potential biomarker research
* You will have the opportunity to attend team meetings to understand the impact of imaging data on disease biology understanding and how it impacts drug development
* At Roche, you will have the opportunity to join an established early careers community, with a dedicated Early Careers Forum to share experiences, network and develop a broader understanding of the diverse functions in this pioneering healthcare company. This is a great opportunity to further develop your skills and create meaningful connections with other talents that are launching their careers.
Who you are
* You are currently enrolled in a university (Bachelor, Master) OR graduated within the last 12 months prior to the start date, ideally in the field of science, especially ophthalmology and human biology.
* You are interested in learning about image data capture and AI-based imaging tools and are computer and IT literate.
* You are interested in the drug development process and the pharmaceutical industry.
* You are proactive and can work independently and diligently with an eye for detail.
* You exhibit a strong work ethic with a positive, team-focused approach.
* You have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* You communicate fluently in spoken and written English.
Application process
A current CV and a Motivation Letter, where you indicate your preferred start date of the internship.
Additional Information
Please note, due to regulations, non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents, and must be continuously enrolled in their university for the whole duration of this internship.
