Boston College a Liberal Arts Education with Jesuit Values
Matthew A
United States, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
Boston College is a university in the south of Boston city center (About 20 minutes) it is a place where students are expected to develop a set of skills that should make them able to change the world in a positive way. This is important because BC offers the 'Jesuit' values track that supposedly sets it apart from all its counterparts in the North East.

The academic structure is extremely rigorous and students often struggle at some point of their four year experience, however, students are also offered a myriad of services and opportunities to improve their situation and get out of their struggle.

You need a plug converter from 110 to 230 V. If your appliance is more than 50W in power, there is chance that the adaptator is more expensive than the appliance itself.

Try o make savings before to come and plan to spend it here. It is a shame to miss things because of budget. (you can work on campus, even if you are foreigner)

It's a pretty well located university in the city. The city is absolutely awesome. Take advantage of associations and groups organized, professionally and socially.

Boston is in New England, relatively close to cities like New York and to Canada. The univerity plans trips to all the interesting spots almost every weekend, check it out! Once again, take advantage of the accessibility of the faculty and learn! American university has a high percentage of international students, compared to European universities. Therefore, be openminded to new experiences and adapt to the local culture and to the people from other countries you'll meet. If you do that, you will enjoy your stage for sure :-)

Housing
Type of housing: with 12 roomates !
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I would find 2 or 3 good friends to live with me in our own place instead of living with 12 roomates (great) BUT with the 2 owners... no party possible !

I was living 5 minutes'walk from the campus and I had the choice between twob train station to go downtown. What was great was living with 12 international roomates. The bad point was that the Japanese owners were also living in the house. No party, and quite no friends allowed in the house/ garden.
