Curtin University of Technology is a multi-campus university founded as the
Western Australian Institute of Technology in 1967. Curtin gained university status in 1987. The central campus of the University is located in Bentley with courses also offered at metropolitan campuses in Shenton Park, Joondalup and the Central Business District. The Kalgoorlie Campus and Muresk Institute of Agriculture in Northam form two regional branches of the University. Curtin programs are also offered in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong.
