When there were difficulties in understanding danish, the danes spoke slower. When the danes couldn't understand me I spoke slower, tried to find the danish word (if it was not the same in swedish) or said it in english.

Go in summer. get yourself a bike. get used to 30min lunch brakes. In case you do not want to hang out only with internationals live in a kollegium, do not participate in the introductory weekend.
