Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU)

The accomodation was great, I was supposed to live with family but they left to France, i the mean while I was always by myself. I had all the space and privacy I wanted once that they told me that I could use all the house.

All my cultural and social life was done around Copenhagen once that Lyngby is a quite "dead" city. Me and my friends, we felt that the tranportantions were so good in Denmark, that easly we were going to Copenhagen to see an exabition duriong the afternoon, or listening a Jazz Concert on the evening, for example. Was just like living down town, in a town full of events. I went to several concerts in "Vega", from Lamb to Air, Goten Project, great groups.Is also a city full of places for the jazz fans, I went several times to "la Fontaine" on sundays for the jam session (and is for free!) For an ecletic environment and a pint of beer, the best place that i'd found is called "The Moose", on thurdays and saturdays the beer is half of the price, the bad new is that most of the times is too crowded. From my experience, I think is a town full of places to find, and for all tastes.

In Denmark everybody speaks fluent english, inside and outside accademic life. Danish is a hard language, specialy for those who don't have any basis in german or nordic languages. Anyway, as I told before, everyone speaks english!

regarding the university itself everything works well. The international students have acess to all facilities, there are lots of courses teached in english, etc. Denmark is a great country to live for a foreinger, everyone speaks english, there is a health system that can provide all the health cares for free. Is also a country where people have, generaly, a liberal mentalety and that is good when we are not from there. Geographicly, Denmark is in a good position if people are planing to travel around. Is very easy to travel around the nordic countries (scanrail is a good way to do it); there are ferries to several countries, namely germany, the baltic countries, Poland, Norway, etc. The cheapest way to travel usualy is by bus, is easy to find trips for almost all the countries in Europe and book them online in www.eurolines.dk. Also inside Denmark are great places to see, with great landscapes, is really a beautiful country!

No. I was, since the begining, expecting to spend more money then what I usually spend at my home country.
