dont be fooled ECU is not worth it i spent 1 year and im transferring to another university. the lecturers for communication are old, some dont seem to know what they are talking about. dont provide much asistance. Please apply somewhere else. Believe me i hated every moment of it. its basically a company that takes your money no education. a money making organisation. Ecu is not even one of the best rated university in Aussie and its soooo expensive (seriously). better use of ur money at Curtin or Murdoch and better job prospects and they are also well rated universities in Australia at least people know about them ECU is none existent.....THINK TWICE!!!!

If you do come and have no accomodation contact nacel they provide accommodation for students for Ecu and they can collect u at the airport. the houses are nice fully furnished and u live with students from Ecu close to the university. food is not provided You make ur own. Dont just come without accommodation nomatter what they tell you. its not easy to find housing in perth Believe me. housing is expensive so is the life here. Perth is not the cheapest actually melbourne is cheaper but anyway come prepared. And be prepared to be independent its "each man for himself" here. wishing u the best. and do smile and make friends otherwise your stay will be unbearable!!!!!mwaah

Overall
I have now done double masters from different international university's, but when it comes to ECU Edith Cowan university Perth it's one of the most 💰 money oriented university where there is no help is been provided to international students ( when i say help I mean I have really faced problems in this university example I left my laptop in cafeteria max 2 mins and someone stole it I complained call security and everyone keeps sending me from one department to another department, one place to another place no solution by the time it was one week I was fed up and I gave up). But that's the least of a serious concern that I have. if you're planning to come to ECU please change your plans especially if you are an international student, as I have seen several of my friends have failed a unit just because professor didn't like them or some personal reason and once they fail you they just go on vacations so you'd cannot contact them or get an appointment all you get is a rude behaviour or a reply from them.
and when I say such things some might think that is just me having a hard time but it's not just me I have met several students at least I would say I have documented 90 ECU students I didn't find even a single student who was happy but dispersed, even I found many students with sucidal tendency because of unfair done by Edith Cowan university perth even I met TWO girls age around 25-27 who have cut there hands several times because of the university itself now one of them "le huang" she went back to her country after paying ECU 100K in fee. I have no Idea how long it will take for her to pay that loan (God help her), and if your planing to get a good job out of this university please don't even think and if your international its much worse. I have seen even professors knows and admits that the students who laterally got high distinctions in all of their subjects and they pass-out with gold medal BUT WHAT THEY DO IS CLEANING IN SHOPPING CENTERS.
I can go on and on about how bad the situations are here and like How many people every month take psychiatrist help because they are in so much stress and tension because of unethical behaviour of this university and How there are lines of student any day you go to student information hub. And How they have quota for failing students every semester in order to make 💰 which I came to know through reliable account person from Edith Cowan university { subjects like managing people in organisations(the Make the subject prerequisite so you have to pass it and when I did my subject I had 7 friends in class who I was in contact with they all get fail'd and I get fail'd by 49 marks just buy one mark it failed me and then doesn't give me appointment for next 2 months wilder time she was giving appointments to my other friends who failed by 42,45 in those kinds of marks but mine was 49 so she didn't give me appointment than I have no choice but to enrol myself into new semester ) ,consumer behaviour and business in global context and the funny thing is their cabins is right next to each other imagine them making a list of all the like to fail } in order to make money out of it
On the funny side I whould like to say RIP International students.

I say come to this university because you get to enjoy the pleasures of culture, academia, the freedom to exercise choices in courses, meet students of over 40 different cultures. Remember to choose your units wisely and try to keep all of them on the same campus, without too many hours separating them. Your timetable is your problem - take charge! The whole semester/year depends on it. :)

I'm not sure where to even begin. Check out the university homepage. www.ecu.edu.au and their international students page www.ecu.edu.au/pa/ecuisc and their student portal student.ecu.edu.au/VC ...i'm sure you'll find lots there.

Verbally abused by Prac coordinator in front of entire cohort of students. I only gave one star as this computerised system wont accept form if you don't highlight a star.

Overall
The Prac coordinator placed me in a specialist class for prac. Her response was  I would fail if I stayed in the class.  She put me in another school halfway through.  I was at a disadvantage. I had insufficient time to learn school ethos.  The prac coordinator would not allow me two extra weeks to pass my prac.  Their reason was that the Dip Ed had ceased and that I would have to re-enroll for a master's degree in teaching.  My hopes and dreams of becoming a teacher were destroyed after 5 years of studying part-time and going through a divorce there was no support Student services were useless.  I had no support and was abused by the prac coordinator in front of an entire auditorium of students.  She said there was only one student that failed prac but didn't mention my name yet I was sitting there.  I am a survivor of trauma from this university and therefore would not recommend this university to anyone

Pros
Hard to say any postive points as I have been traumatised by this universtiy..
Cons
ECU is very discriminative and unfair to the underdog, or when they are at fault do not admit their mistakes.

for ppl who is going to study in perth..gd luck and have fun in here. If you have any problem with your university..look for student support in your university. they are always there for you.the University have some very mean securities..but that is their job..so let them be..don't fight with then just go complaining them to head of University.
