A top 10 university in Taiwan, but doesn't compete in the world stage
Vincent S

Literature, 2024
Overall
Fu Jen Catholic University realistically is a great school for most people, but the top 1% of students may find it lacking. It provides a world-competitive education for most of its majors, but it still lacks resources to compete even with Taiwan's best schools.

Pros
A great student body. Being the most prestigious private school in Taiwan, what the school lacks in education makes up for it for the connections you can make here.
Cons
Could do better in its curriculum

An Excellent experience at Fu Jen Catholic University

Overall
My studies at FJU were a very enriching experience. The course of study was industry oriented with a good balance between theory and practice, include a great outlook at emerging trends and disruptive technologies.

On the student life side, there were a lot of get together opportunities championed by student organizations such as FJU-IDEA which brings together foreign and local students for cultural exchanges.

There were also overseas summer internships opportunities.

It was a holistic and wonderful experience!

Academic
Course recommendations
Sociolgy courses gives an interesting insight of the "Chinese spitirt" and way of behaviour. Chinese language courses are very good and practical. Lack of more diversified courses like in my field of studies (Management), but the exchange program was completely new. Need to be improved.

Do not travel by car during the Chinese New Year. Do not drive over 90Km/h. Visit the south of the island.
