In the house were I'm living is pretty big. Everybody has his own room. We have a garage, bathroom with a second toilet downstairs, living room and a big living kitchen. The bad thing is that it is sometimes not that warm. But generally ist really o.k.. I'm living together with a rumanien, spanish and france gay. So it is good, because you always have to talk english. I think the accommodation from the GMIT are very good and close to the college.

Course recommendations
It bodes well to arrange as much as you can before you arrive. Although In my case I wanted to have subjects from various departments so I had to wait till I could see what was really offered and what was not classing in the timetable. I was disappointed that exams were written in the sportshall with hundrets of other students and I could not choose when I wanted to do each subject.

I would change the way of examing. At my home university each teacher is responsible for his/her way of examing and students can choose the date they like.

It was my first time abroad. I had no prior experience so I was happy for the accomodation arranged by GMIT International Office. Later on, when I settled down, I found a room by myself. In general: Campus accomodation is more expensive than accomodation in houses which on the other side may have a bad location. I would recomend to begin with acccomodation offered by GMIT and than decide to stay or to find something else.

I wish I had known...
The fact the the year spent at GMIT will not be recognised in Romania, which is completely my home university's fault, The Irish part has done excatly what promissed and I have no complaints connected in any way to GMIT. The weather, it is much worse than anybody would ever imagine!!!

Final comments
If there is a sunny day, enoy it as much as possible, because it is highly unlikely to see another one soon. Travel has to be done in September or in May-June period, but it is a must in this country, as there are a lot of beautiful and interesting places to see.

At the beginning it was very hard on the college, because I didn't have a lot of experience in technical english. But after some week it was o.k. You learn every day new words and it becomes better from one week to the other. In the social life it was ok because you improve day per day because you speak every day english.

There is a great web of Hostels throughout Ireland where the ISIC card is accepted. Get the travel stamp for 30% discounts on busses.
