Excellent for all those interested in international affairs, not only for its academic program but also its location and the fact that many of the professors are also practitioners at Government agencies, International Organizations, Thinks Tanks and the NGO sector.

Recommend getting to DC early in the summer to look for accomodation off-campus as good places nearby Georgetown University are scarce. It pays to live near a Metro station.

I was already familiar with American universities since I studied at the University of Berkeley in 1998.

Trying to organize activities which involve both international students and local students. It is not easy for everyone to become friends with local students.

The orientation session at the beginning of my experience was very helpful to get acquainted with the university life and its resources.

This university has a great location, the city is very international and there are tons of things to see and do. The courses were very interesting and I really enjoyed the interaction with teachers. This is just a really good university that I highly recommend.

It's very easy to travel from Washington DC to others city on the east coast but don't hesitate to compare geryhound buses and flight tickets because you can pay 10$ more by air but save 9 or 10 hours which is good for weekends.(website:studentuniverse) One last thing if you want to go to NY take the "chinatown buses", it's very unexpensive.

No, I was well documented about the country and university before I went, and had met people who had told me about the student life in Georgetown

you have to go if you are curious about American culture. If you have no prejudices against it, you will learn to appreciate it, and the quality of studies, and the tremendous amount of opportunities that you can take there (in Dc : internships in governmental organisms or NGo's, student activities and sports,...)

Housing
Type of housing: 2d semester : Off campus
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
is it an unforgettable experience to get the chance to discover the way of living of American students on campus, and it is easier to integrate yourself into thecampus life. But it is also great to change and to experience the life of the Georgetown district in Dc, so it is also a very enriching experience to live off campus, to be more independent and to share a house with roomates.

Very convenient and confortable, European students are not often used to so much space and modernity within a house ! But the counterpart is that it is very expensive !

Georgetown's MBA Program-Tough but outstanding
Mary C
United States, Graduate
, 2002
Overall
I chose Georgetown's MBA for a variety of reasons, but at the time I was concerned because I thought the quality education and what I was getting for the extremely high cost might be less than I would get at a little bit higher ranked MBA program. Georgetown was ranked 22 when I started. Nothing could be further from the truth. Georgetown is an especially great program for someone seeking international perspectives and experience. I got phenomenal international experience and overall great opportunities to work with very dedicated and amazing professors, awesome students on team projects, and it was just an amazing experience. I have taken a lot with students in other programs that were ranked higher, and I believe if anything, Georgetown is more demanding and strenuous, and provides better international opportunities in particular. Great marketing program. So glad I stayed local in DC and went to Georgetown.

Pros
Los of opportunities to take classes as you change class schedule 4 times a year, very international, great marketing program
Cons
It is a smaller program than some, and younger, so fewer alumni than some other programs
