Good accommodation. You will find almost all international students there. That's also the reason why it is sometimes really noisy. GOod but expensive!

Personal recommendation
It is a very new university with a huge library, place with computers,...The atmosphere is great! You can just relax, drink a cup of fine hot chocolat in the coffee bar of the library and study at the same time. The sport infrastructure is huge. You can follow classes for almost every sport you have in mind. Beside this, the location of the university is very good, right in the middle of the center of Glasgow, close the the main shopping streets, UGC, pubs and bars, restaurants,...

Do not hesitate to go to Glasgow! It is a unique experience of which you will look back with regret to be in Belgium again. The method of learning is totally different and asks much more of yourself. You have to write at least one essay for each course and do at least one presentation for each course. But you learn so much more about it! Beside this, Glasgow is not very nice at daylight, but once it becomes evening, you see pubs, bars, clubs coming to life! I heard that it was the next biggest 'going out'city in the UK (after London). Have fun in Glasgow!!

nice to have such a good contact with the lecturers. Exam system is also different then in Belgium. Eg you have a book with 10 chapters. They ask from every chapter 1 question. And you have to answer 5 questions. So you actually have to learn only half of the book. Interesting!!

English is not that difficult. It is the Scottish accent that made it sometimes though, especially on the phone.

in shops it was impossible to pay with my bank card, they do not have a system like ours where you can pay with mastercard or something. Only visa or another credit card is possible. So do not forget to take your visa with you!
