The Finnish language is very difficult to learn. However I have tried to learn it but I did not end with good results and mainly because I did not spend enough time in the country. Fortunately the majority of people speak English in Finland, that is the reason why I did not have any problems in my everyday life.
even if you do not always qualify for a test, the teachers realize you are a foreign student and have a lot of social activities going on, talk with them and you will work it out, bring some presents from your home country

i found it was a good experience for me to learn finnish. It's a rare speaking language which it's rather strange when you listened to it and also hard to learn but still, i like this language very much!
The majority of the teachers were professionals, and some of them did know how to organise the course in the way that it would have been much more easy to understand. They did not have any plan and they were going from a point to another one with any discussion thread.

Tampere is great. Helsinki is OK but a bit too far away. Train links are excellent. Taxis are expensive. 2 nightclubs in Hameenlina town. You have to be over 21 or 22. Bummer when you are 20.
get a brochure which details all the international courses throughout all the campuses, being in Mustiala, you can also study courses in Forssa, only a short bus ride away! or stay a week in Valkeakoski or Hammenlinna!
