Pourquoi?

Shared appartments with 3 to 5 rooms. Students residences, where it is really easy to meet new people, both exchange students and Finns. Good way as well to meet students from other schools and universities.

The school and the student association offer 3 different places to live: - Ida: Shared appartments, 45 min from school by bus. ~800 Fim/ month - Pasila: Shared appartments, 20 min from school by train. - Kamppi: flat for one person in a building reseved for students, 5 min walking from school and 5 min walking from the center of Helsinki. The school offers an excellent and wide range of choices. No problem with the housing.

Food is in general extremely expensive in Finland but costs for phoning are traditionally cheap. Housing was supported. Nightlife because of the alcohol prices and usually I'm not travelling that much at home.

During my stay I got the chance to practice my English as well as German language skills. I spoke both of them very good before. The international environment gave me the opportunity to become more fluent and switch back and fort between them.

This experience will remain something that changed my vision of the world forever. I hadn't had the opportunity to travel before, and there, I met people from the whole world. I spend hours talking with friends, exchanging ideas on the way e see the world and our future...Though we came from different cultures, we found out we had to answer the same questions ..I also learned a little bit of tchech and korean, since my roomates came from Praha and Seoul...and guess what, I am just about to meet Lenka (my roomate) again! This trip was a very humanly rich experience for me!

Food: it is more expensive Telephone: only had a mobile phone and no fixed line. Travel: travelled in Russia and Baltic states so it is cheaper. But if you plan to go to Lapland or Stockholm, it will be more expensive than in France.
