Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
Even if the life level in Russia is rather low, I was so warmly welcomed that I wouldn't want to change accomodation. And as the family doesn't know any French words, it's a good place to learn the language.

The place was not very modern, but the relationship with the teachers was good and it's the most important for me.

As my family helped me a lot, because they spoke gradually quicker and they explained me the words if I didn't understand, so it was good for my vocabulary skills and my fluency. They corrected if I did a mistake and I didn't keep doing it.

Personal recommendation
As Kemerovo is situated in the provincies, the relationship with the local people will be better. But if you want to have a rich social life, you have to choose a bigger city. I preferred a closer relation with people.

Kemerovo is a city in yhe provincies, so it's not like Moscow. If you want to take part in the social life, you have to ask the students. They will be pleased to help you. Ant do not hesitate to insist, because Russian people sometimes suffered of a "lake of initiative".

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Personal savings
Other sources of funding:
Family<br> Government assistance
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
The travel to Kemerovo was pretty expensive, but I didn't have to pay accomodations (it was an exchange between both universities and a Russian girl was welcome in my family) and the family in Russia was generous with me. The government assistance was pretty low.
