If you plan to make a few journeys by train, buy a "Young Persons Railcard" upon arrival. Also, apply for a "Students Photocard" to be able to purchase discounted tickets on the London public transport.
The cheapest pay-as-you-go mobile seems to be Virgin Mobile.

"International Marketing" was the best module I chose - really interesting. The English modules (KLS) are quite good too, although the level depends a lot on the other Erasmus students (who often speak a poor level of English).

If you always wanted to experience life in London - go for it (you can reach downtown London in about 15-25 min. by train). But be sure to have sufficient funds availbale as living costs (esp. if you want to travel, go out, see some of the sights, etc.) are quite high.

As there was only little contact to locals compared to other Erasmus students, the best place to practise the language was at home with the family and at uni (presentations, lectures).

Because a room on campus is even more expensive and the facilities are much worse. Moreover, most landlords/landladies are friendly and in some cases provide extra services (mine did my laundry together with hers).

No matter where you stay, it is terribly expensive and places on campus are rare. Only full-year studets are eligible for renting a campus flat.
Travelling times (by bus) can be quite long if you live in lodgings, even though there is a free shutttle service for students.
