Life in Sweden is in general slightly more expensive; apart from that, I participated in more activities (nightlife, traveling, etc) than I would at home. That makes life more expensive.

Don't drink in normal pubs! Apart from that, traveling in Sweden is quite cheap, especially flying. Get a standby-ticket, 300SEK single anywhere.

Is quite cheap to eat in the "Nations" and the food is good. If you want to save money buy in Netto (supermarket). The alcohol is really expensive and you can only buy it in a Special shop from the goverment called "System Bolaguet"

The most cost-saving tip i can give is try to talk to students that were there the semester before, because there is a huge chance that they have second hand stuff that are really useful. Also, go to Tiger. Really the best student/cheap store ever!

Housing costs a lot less in Lund than it does at Berkeley, and traveling anywhere in Europe is considerably cheap compared to prices in the States.

Buy a used bike. A bike is pretty necessary here and relatively cheap. Also, cell phones can be picked up second hand which can also save you some money.

Over all I used more money that semester, but prices in Sweden are lower and the Norwegian Kroner stronger than the swedish. So living costs were lower and alcohol cheaper, but I went out alot more than I usually do.
