my academic experience was not ideal, however, I would do the very same. In such an experience abraod, one learns more from others and people we meet than from claasses that are, at the end of the day, pretty much the same as at home

Macquarie is a beautiful uni. it is open and on a big campus. There is so much to do, and it really is about getting involved to make the most of it. There is a large international student base, so there are many cultures to learn about! Lectures and tutorials are pretty reasonable. You can listen to them online if you missed them/ forgot what happened. Getting in contact with teachers is easy if you need help.

Make sure you realize that it is not as close to Sydney as you may think. We were told it was 5 minutes away and that's not true. WHen going out at night, plan for time to actually get into the city and back.

Don't be shocked if you come from a non Asian county. There are so many Asian students in Australia, it seems that the majority of all students on campus are Asians. It's ok, but just be prepared. They are nice guys and gals... :)

Take this big step towards the unknown. It's definitely worth it. The experiance is unforgettable, but you must be a participant not a spectator. Take actions, join clubs, travel, go out...

I didnt regret to go to Sydney, it was the best time of my life. I met wonderful people. However it took some effort to find Australian. This university is somehow too international in this sense. But I made real good connections with people from very different countries. Go for it.
