Sometimes i had troubles with writing an essay...but there is writing center where you can make an appointment and someone will go over your work and correct it. There are also different classes that you can take on your own time in order to improve your language skills. Sometimes i also had problems communicating with Canadians....at first it was much easier for me to hang out with international students...they were more open i guess and did not care if i made any mistakes while talking. But after a year i was comfortable among canadians as well.

Make sure you bring an umbrella with you and lots of warm clothing. It rains a lot and gets very cold!!! Make sure you get out of Kingston and go travelling. Kingston is in between Toronto and Montreal, so it's a good opportunity to visit the most amazing cities. Make friens with upper year students...they'll help you out and will be able to give you a lot of info about the houses, places to go, and good opportunities. Since Canada is a multicultural country there are a lot of students that have different backgrounds who are also fun to meet and hang out. International centre is very helpful, and it's fun to spend your lunch there. They'll help you with anything. Overall it was a good experience.

There are a lot of opt-outs that you can do and it'll save you about $200-$300. Just check Q-card for it in the finantial information.

There are a lot of bars, pubs, clubs, and places to hang out. For people from Europe it's a must to see such places as Tango and My Bar. Other places are pretty much as anywhere...at 2 o'clock everyone goes home....sees weird after european clubs.

The residences are not bad at all, it's also a good way to meet people. However residences can get pretty loud and dirty. So it's almost impossible to study or have a rest in your room. It is better to stay in the ghetto. It costs about the same...maybe a bit less. This way you are still on the campus but in a quiet place where you can study. Plus you get to cook your own food, which is cheaper and better than caf food.
