Social life in Rennes is very much what you make of it. There is a large international community in the city, which is much welcomed by the local people. The city has many bars, alledgedy you can drink in a different bar each day of the year. The city centre, especially Rue St. Michel, also know as the 'Rue de Soif', is packed with bars and cafes, all very individual and friendly. Rennes plays host to a number of festivals which really shouldn't be missed, including the annual Transmusicales (live music weekend) and regular 'Fest Noz' evenings. Not quite so exciting but a cultural event not to be missed is the weekly market on a Saturday morning, which takes over the city. The seafood is incredible, and the traders love us international students!

The most popular street where to find cafés and bars is "rue de la soif". The name indicates already all you need to know. Travelling all around Brittanny is a must, because if the beautiful landscapes and the lovely peolpe living there.

Rennes offers a broad line of bars and cafe's. I enjoyed exploring. Also There are lot's of cheap places to eat. My favorite thing was to travel up to Saint Malo, it is only 45 minutes from Rennes, and one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

L'Espace and Delicatessen are very nice nightclubs. For restaurants I would recommend Chez Dede and Lounge. You also find some very nice pizzerias on Rue st George. The creperie on Place St Anne was the best of the creperies.
