El Pimpi on calle Alcazabilla was a groovy place to go for pre-club drinks or just to relax as Tony Blair has already done (according to some pretty ropey photographic evidence)and even John Malkovich had been spotted eating in MCPapa next door. After that hanging out with some booze and friends in the Plaza de la Merced was a popular option. You have to try the Chupitarias though, where a filthy shot of grog will set you back only 100 pts!! Then its a quick meal in the same road as Pimpi in a place known as La Posada, (for the best steaks, morcilla and meat in Spain). As far as clubs go there's perhaps a smattering of OK places but if you're into cheese Malaga is your baby...I recomend 'Cosa Nostra' and el 'liceo'. Otherwise go to Torremolinos or Ben Almadena for the best clubs and pubs. Oh yeah, and everyone hangs out in Maddigans irish pub on a Sunday for a singalong with an old crooner.

Logement
Type de logement: Appartement/maison
Organisé par: Indépendant - seul choix possible
Si j'y retournais je choisirais: Appartement/maison
Pourquoi?
I would deffinately choose an appartment again as it gives you total freedom and independance to come and go as you please. Given the partying times you don't want to be locked out of Uni accomodation at 7am in the morning! Also if you get friendly with the neighbours you can practice your Spanish and get free meals.

I didn't stay at the Uni but some friends did and were not too impressed. Food apparently was very good but they didn't like the strict regime, it was alittle out of the way and you had no choice with whom you shared.

Being half Ecuadorian was a bit of a cheat really so had no real problems. Even the ussualy unfathomable Andalucian accent proved little challenge as thats more or less how it goes in Quito. Teachers were a little hard to follow at first as they used loads of academic level Spanish...but we all slowly worked it out.

Food and accomodation were well cheap and we ended up paying half as much for a nicer flat than we do in Birmingham for a rat inffested flee pit. The phone however went up as we made loads of international calls had internet conections and all bought mobiles for extra coverage. travelling went up as we went to loads of cool paces and visited far off towns and cities for tourism...something you don't often do in Birmingham funnily enough. Nightlife was about the same because the cheaper it is the more you want so it ended up levelling off evenly. However in all if you way it all up it was a hell of a lot cheaper and usually better quality than home...especially the food.

Eat out as much as You like because it's all so cheap...however watch for where the locals go first and follow...otherwise you go to tourist traps and it becomes less cheap.

They all seemed to have competent and friendly staff...who if you twist their arms properly will help you with any course work for your Uni back home.

Travel as much as possible...don't let anything stop you from fully apreciating all the culture and beauty of the women...I mean Cathedrals. There's so much to see and do so do as much as possible...the buses and trains are cheap so go far and wide.
